To stand in Truth

Have you ever caught yourself looking through old photographs or wandering down memory lane, only to suddenly see everything in a completely different light? Our lives unfold in stages. Every day, we pass by dozens of scenes—seemingly trivial, ordinary, meaningless moments. A coffee gulped down in a rush, a brief conversation at a bus stop, a lonely walk. We often wave them off, chasing after "grand" goals. And then, time comes. The footprint of time, which ruthlessly yet beautifully shows us just how wrong we were. It was precisely those small, underappreciated moments that built the foundation of who we are today.

A Blessing Hidden in the Dark

It is hardest when those moments arrive that literally bring us to our knees. Each of us has gone through such a stage—when reality breaks you in half, and you feel as though you are trapped in absolute darkness. Do you know that feeling when you painstakingly, inch by inch, practically crawl your way out of that dark? It hurts. It is utterly exhausting. In moments like these, it feels as though the world has forgotten us, and every single breath becomes a battle for survival. We see no meaning in the suffering we encounter, and helplessness becomes our only companion.Yet, with the perspective of time, something extraordinary happens. It turns out that those worst, most painful crises become a hidden blessing. It is in that darkness, when you have nothing left to lose, that true strength is born. That is where we fall to pieces only to put ourselves back together—stronger and wiser.

The Hardest Love

We often look for salvation in another human being. We want to love and be loved. But we forget the most important rule: you cannot build a sturdy structure on fragile foundations. To truly, honestly love someone else, you must first stand in truth before yourself. Accept your scars. Love yourself—with all your flaws. As long as we run from our own shadow, we will only look to others for a band-aid to cover our unhealed wounds. True closeness is not born from perfection, but from the courage to show someone your own unpolished truth. To do this, you need the courage to be vulnerable. The courage to be able to say out loud: "Yes, I am weak. Yes, I carry the weight of disappointments, painful mistakes, and wrong choices." Admitting your own weakness is not a failure. It is the highest degree of inner freedom.

Freedom from Expectations

So how do you walk through all these stages without losing your mind? The key lies in one incredibly difficult lesson: stop expecting anything. From people, from fate, from the world. Expectations are the shortest path to disappointment. When you let go of them, you begin to accept life as it is—with its light and its shadows. By doing so, you lift the weight of scripts you wrote in your own head off your shoulders—scripts that the world so often brutally shatters. You allow things to just happen, without constant judgment or regret over what didn’t go your way.And finally, the most important thing: in this entire journey, among people who appear and vanish, never lose yourself. Even if the price for staying true to your values is high. Even if that price is loneliness. It is better to be alone and know who you are, than to lose your soul in a crowd while trying to please everyone else.Because at the end of this road, it will still just be you and your story. Make sure it is true.
